What are the specs on the Cards?
Our standard issue cards are poker size (2.5” X 3.5”) printed on high-quality white-core cardstock. They are crisp, durable, and ready for action.
However, we have plans to reinforce the line! If we hit our $12.5k Stretch Goal, we will upgrade all cards to premium [Linen Finish/Black Core] cardstock. This upgrade makes the cards even more resilient against the mud and wear of the trenches. Help us spread the word so we can hit that milestone and get the best gear into your hands!

I missed the "First 24 Hours" First Wave Pledge Tier! Can I still get the best price?
The 24-hour “First Wave” discount is a reward for the first Wharf Rats who hit the trenches. Once that window closes, the price moves to the standard campaign rate. However, both are significantly lower than the eventual retail price!

Can this game be played solo?
Affirmative! A Forlorn Hope is designed from the ground up as a dedicated solo experience. You are the lone commander in the trenches. However, you don’t have to face the mud alone—the game features a fully integrated Co-op Mode, allowing up to three people to work together to survive the front lines and complete the mission.

When will my card be charged for shipping and VAT?
We won’t collect shipping or VAT during the initial campaign. Once the battle lines are drawn and the campaign ends, you’ll receive an invite to our BackerKit Pledge Manager. There, you’ll provide your final coordinates (shipping address) and pay the necessary postage and local taxes.

How difficult is the game?

We will calculate and collect shipping and any applicable taxes in July 2026. This allows us to provide you with the most accurate, up-to-date carrier rates closer to our September shipping date.

Can I change my shipping address after the campaign?
Yes! You can update your address through your BackerKit survey at any time. We will officially “Lock Addresses” in late August, about 2–3 weeks before we begin shipping. You will receive a final reminder email before this happens.

Do you ship to [Country]?
We ship to most countries around the world.
Due to current international blockades and unstable supply lines, we cannot currently ship to the following countries: Afghanistan, Belarus, Bhutan, Haiti, Iran, Niue, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Yemen. Restricted zones are subject to change at any time due to global logistics volatility. We reserve the right to update this list or refund pledges if a region becomes unserviceable.

What is your refund policy?
Because funds are immediately committed to manufacturing and fulfillment logistics to meet our September 15th goal, all pledges are final once the campaign concludes on March 12, 2026. We are unable to process refunds once the campaign has ended and credit cards have been charged.

Is the "Retail Version" the same as the "Kickstarter Version"?
Yes! At Wharf Rat Games, we believe in giving all our backers the best possible version of the game. Any stretch goals unlocked during the campaign—such as the linen-finish cards and dual-layered boards—will be included in every copy produced in this run.

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
Pledge Finalization & Refund Policy
By completing this survey, you acknowledge that all pledges are final as of the campaign's conclusion on March 12, 2026. Because funds are immediately committed to manufacturing and fulfillment logistics to meet our production timelines, we are unable to process refunds once the campaign has ended and credit cards have been charged.
Shipping & Taxes
Shipping costs and applicable taxes will be calculated and charged separately in July 2026. By completing this survey, you acknowledge that shipping rates are subject to carrier fluctuations and you agree to pay the final calculated cost to receive your rewards.
Shipping Address Responsibility
You are responsible for providing an accurate and deliverable shipping address. We will provide a final notice to update addresses approximately 2-3 weeks before shipping. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or failure to collect the shipment, you will be responsible for the additional shipping costs to resend your items.
